National Patient Safety Consortium

The National Patient Safety Consortium took place on September 22nd at the Westin in Ottawa, Canada. 

The event looks to drive a shared action plan for safer healthcare. More than 50 participating organizations, including national organizations, provincial and territorial quality and patient safety councils, government representatives, professional associations and patient groups. The key themes are patient voice; leadership; measurement; and communication. 

Dr.Brian Robson from Healthcare Improvement, Scotland was the keynote speaker at the reception. Brian's position involves responsibility for establishing key elements of clinical governance, quality and patient safety within eHealth developments delivered by NHS NSS.Brian will develop this interest in the role of technologies in supporting reliability and evidence-based care. In his own words Brian is passionate about ‘making it easy to do the right thing’ and believes that technologies must support this principle.He is committed to ensuring that eHealth plays its part in improving patient safety as he continues in clinical practice with a regular session.
